Brandt, Ohio is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Miami County, located within Bethel Township. It's part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Historically, it was established to the National Road (now U.S. Route 40) as a rest stop
for travelers and toll-takers. A notable landmark is the Brandt School, built in 1890, which still stands on Third Street.
Brandt formed on the National Road (today U.S. Route 40) as a stop for travelers on the road and for its toll-takers. It was laid out in 1839 by the Voorhis brothers. A toll gate was located at the east end of Brandt where US 40 and State Route 201 intersect today.
Brandt School: A historic school building from 1890 remains a point of interest in the community.
